Emanating from a background in hospitality, Zoe spent the better part of 15 years working in fine dining restaurants and hotels in and around Adelaide before joining the Penfolds Magill Estate Cellar Door team in 2011. Whilst working in the Cellar Door, she returned to study, undertaking the challenging study of WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust). After an extensive renovation, the Magill Estate Restaurant re-opened in 2013 and Zoe was offered the prestigious role of Sommelier.
In this capacity Zoe managed the restaurant’s vast cellar and wine list, becoming highly-skilled at assessing wine and pairing Penfolds with contemporary cuisine. Zoe’s experience tasting, decanting and serving current and back-vintage Penfolds wines makes her an expert on the subject. During her tenure as Sommelier, the restaurant achieved numerous accolades including a top tenth position in Australia for Gourmet Traveller and an inclusion in The Australian best restaurant list.
