The Qld Cricketers’ Club is proud to be the Platinum and naming rights sponsor of the Shell Green T20 Cricket match held each ANZAC Day at Brookfield Showgrounds, Brookfield.
On December 17, 1915 a cricket game was held on the site now known as ‘Shell Green’, played as a diversionary tactic during preparations for the evacuation during WW1. The game was abandoned after Turkish shells landed close by. Commemorating this occasion, each year the Lord Mayor’s XI play the Australian Army Cricket XI, for the Shell Green Trophy at Brookfield Showgrounds. Brunch starts at 10am followed by the game at 11am. All QCC Members are welcome to join us at Brookfield this ANZAC day, where thousands come together to celebrate the ANZAC spirit.
We hope to see you there!
